Pros:

Slottsskogen is a beautiful setting for a music festival. At $270 the festival is actually fairly affordable

Cons:

No Camping means you need to book accommodation early to lock in a good price.

way out west 300x127 Way Out West Music Festival (Sweden) The Way Out West fest is one of Sweden’s largest Music Festivals. It is held once a year in Göteborg (Gothenburg to many English speakers) in Mid-August. (The 2012 festival is held during August 9-11.) Way Out West was first held in 2007 making it a fairly young festival, however it has quickly grown to become one of the more notorious festivals coming out of Europe, winning the O Music award for the Most Innovative Festival of 2011. It features genres of Indie, Rock, Hip Hop and Electronic musical acts and is held in the stunning Slottsskogen park in Göteborg. There is no onsite camping available, however there are many accommodation options in the city. You can find more information on accommodation at the Göteborg city guide.

Stay Out West

The festival also ties itself into the city nightlife of Göteborg with Stay Out West, in which many of the bands playing at Way Out West perform at rock clubs, nightclubs, churches, theaters and cultural centers in Göteborg. Festival passes from the music festival are admitted to the Stay Out West venues, but are subject to the venues capacity limitations.
