Treasure Island music festival is held every year on the first weekend of October on Treasure Island in the San Francisco Bay. The Treasure Island music festival features a number of different musical genres including indie rock, hip hop, and EDM. The music festival grounds contain two different stages where a total of 13 different acts play on both Friday and Saturday.
The festival focuses on reducing their carbon footprint by using zero-emission buses to transport attendees to and from parking structures that are located inland. Since the first music festival in 2007, they have continued to make things more “green”.
The Treasure Island music festival is also well known for it’s unique location in the middle of the San Francisco bay. As David Pescovitz from Boing Boing put it, “Treasure Island Music Festival is a much more intimate scene. The setting, right on the San Francisco Bay, is breathtaking and with just two stages, you won’t spend too much time fighting the crowds.”
