Austin City Limits is an annual music festival held in Austin, Texas. It is held over three (weekend) days in mid October in Zilker Park. Austin City Limits is a multi-genre Music Festival featuring styles of rock, indie, folk, country, and electronic music, and features well over 100 musical acts over the weekend. The Music Festival contains 8 different stages for the performances throughout the festival grounds.
Austin City Limits is actually named after a PBS broadcast that first aired in the mid 1970′s by the same name. The original ‘Austin City Limits’ on PBS featured folk musical acts broadcasted to television sets all over America. ACL (as Austin City Limits the Festival is commonly referred to) followed the same format as the nostalgic PBS series featuring top folk, country and rock acts during it’s inaugural first season in 2002. Austin City Limits has since become of of top music festivals in the Southern United States with an ever expanding roster of top-notch musical acts and an amazing setting right in the middle of the City of Austin, Texas.
